Seem Like Good Reasons To Me
Gideon Sa'ar tells UN Human Rights Council to shove it
Foreign Minister Gideon Sa'ar sent a letter to the UN Human Rights Council explaining Israel's reasons for leaving it.

Foreign Minister Gideon Sa'ar published a letter today (Thursday) addressed to the UN Human Rights Council, explaining Israel's reasons for leaving the international body.
Sa'ar published the letter on his X account, together with a post saying that:
"I informed the UNHRC that Israel will no longer participate in it.
"The "human rights" council has consistently enabled countries that abuse human rights to evade scrutiny, while obsessively pursuing Israel, the only democracy in the Middle East.
"Joining President Trump's just decision, Israel will no longer tolerate the Council's blatant antisemitism. Enough is enough!"
Sa'ar wrote that "the decision was reached in light of the ongoing and unrelenting institutional bias against Israel in the Human Rights Council, which has been persistent since its inception in 2006."
He then elaborated on this point: "The UNHRC has traditionally protected serial human rights abusers by allowing them to hide from scrutiny, and instead obsessively demonizes the one democracy in the Middle East - Israel. It has become a political tool and a convenient platform, cynically used to advance certain political aims, to bash and delegitimize Israel."
Sa'ar then explained how this happens in detail:
"Israel, in the Council, has been subject to over 100 condemnatory resolutions, over 20% of all resolutions ever passed in the Council - more than against Iran, Cuba, North Korea and Venezuela combined.
"This institutionalized discrimination against Israel is enshrined in the infamous Item 7 of the agenda of the HRC," which focuses on "Human rights situation in Palestine and other occupied Arab territories."
According to Sa'ar, "this agenda is one of a kind - while all other country-related human rights situations around the world are discussed together under the same agenda item, Item 7 is the only permanent agenda item that focuses on a single country."
Moreover, "since the horrific massacre of October 7, the Council has employed every platform to spread misinformation and blood libels against Israel."
