The Israeli soldier wanted in Brazil for committing "war crimes" in Gaza, managed to flee the country early this morning (Saturday to Sunday), according to a report by Channel 12 News.

The soldier's family says that he left for a neighboring country at night.

Brazil ordered an investigation of the visiting soldier, following a complaint by an anti-Israel organization accusing him of involvement in the demolition of civilian structures in Gaza.

The complaint against the Israeli was filed by the Hind Rajab Foundation (HRF), an anti-Israel organization based in Brussels. According to the foundation, the soldier was involved in the demolition of a residential building in Gaza, outside combat zones.

The foundation presented the court with a 500-page document, which allegedly includes evidence gathered through open intelligence, such as social networks. As a result, the foundation demanded the arrest of the soldier in order to prevent him from fleeing Brazil or to conceal evidence.

The Court noted that this decision constitutes a precedential enforcement of the Rome Statute by a state that is a signatory to it, without relying on the International Criminal Court in The Hague.
