Forces of the Kiryati Brigade combat team, operating under the Gaza Division's command, have been operating in Rafah with the aim of destroying terrorist infrastructure and eliminating terrorists.
During a raid in the northern part of Rafah, the forces located, exposed, and destroyed a site for manufacturing medium and long range rockets.

The forces also eliminated Hamas terrorists and destroyed additional terrorist infrastructure.
The IDF has been operating against Hamas primarily in the southern and northern parts of the Gaza Strip and avoiding the central Gaza Strip, for fear of getting too close to the hostages and causing Hamas terrorists to panic and murder them.
However, one Gaza refugee said that the only way to force Hamas into a deal that would not require the end of the war would be to take over the central Gaza Strip.
