The IDF said that two rockets were fired from the Gaza Strip, which went far enough to trigger sirens as far away as Jerusalem. Both rockets were intercepted.

This is the first time in about a year that a Hamas rocket made it sufficiently far to trigger an alarm in the Jerusalem area, with most such attempts either failing or landing close to the southern border with Israel.

Magen David Adom and other services did not report any injuries or physical damage from either the rockets or interceptors.

The IDF is currently operating in the northern Gaza Strip, where the rockets were fired, with the aim of rooting out terrorist activity and infrastructure there.
