Israel warns Hezbollah: Withdraw from the Litani River or face crushing retaliation

Israel's message remains unambiguous: any violation of the current status quo will be met with swift and decisive action.

Israel's Defense Minister Israel Katz delivered an unequivocal message to Hezbollah on Sunday, warning the militant group that any attempt to return to its former strongholds or violate the current ceasefire will be met with overwhelming force.

Standing at a strategic IDF outpost overlooking the volatile Lebanon-Israel border, Katz declared that the military had "extracted the snake's teeth" and would "crush [Hezbollah's] head" if it fails to comply with withdrawal demands.

Katz was accompanied by senior military commanders including Brigadier General Shai Kalper of Division 91. He emphasized that Hezbollah will not be permitted to reestablish its terrorist infrastructure in southern Lebanese villages that have historically posed significant threats to Israeli Galilee settlements.

"We struck Hezbollah with unprecedented power," Katz told reporters,"Our objective is clear: ensure the complete removal of the threat and restore security that allows our northern residents to return home without fear."

Katz's tour included detailed operational assessments with battalion commanders, reviewing the tactical achievements of recent military maneuvers and discussing strategies to maintain pressure on Hezbollah, despite the current ceasefire.
