In a highly unusual public statement for a President-elect, Donald Trump stated today (Monday) that he is working very hard to get the hostages all back and that he has been speaking with Prime Minister Netanyahu on the matter.
Trump said that he would be available after January 20 and reminded Hamas and the world that if the hostages are not back by the time he's inaugurated, there would be "hell."
Adam Boehler, Trump's envoy for the hostages, visited Israel in a private capacity today but also met with a number of Israeli officials including the Knesset Chairman Amir Ohana, Defense Minister Katz, and Foreign Minister Gideon Sa'ar.
Katz told the Knesset Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee today that he believes there are good odds for a hostage deal, even if partial.
