Watch: IDF releases footage showing damage to Syrian weapons

Following days of air strikes against any and all weapons belonging to the now defunct Syrian Army, the IDF has released footage of its successful strikes.

The IDF says that in anticipation of a possible rapid collapse of the Syrian regime and its army, IDF leadership worked with the Intelligence Directorate to prepare a thorough plan to target any and all weapons belonging to the Syrian regime, including strategic ones.

According to the IDF, hundreds of planes struck Syria's most important weapons including "fighter jets and helicopters, Scud missiles, UAVs, cruise missiles, surface-to-sea precision-guided missiles, surface-to-air missiles, surface-to-surface missiles, radars, rockets, and more."

The Air Force destroyed about 90% of Syria's air defenses, a significant achievement, as this defense system is considered among the strongest in the region and makes it significantly easier for the Air Force to move via Syria to strike Iran should Israel decide to do so.

The Air Force also destroyed two Syrian air force squadrons as well as missile storage and production sites, one of which is rumored to also house chemical weapons capabilities.
