For two days following the death of the American actor and 'Friends' star Matthew Perry, his original castmates remained silent and did not respond to the sudden passing of their friend from the series. Now, Jennifer Aniston, David Schwimmer, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, and Matt LeBlanc release a joint statement.

"All of us are so devastated by the loss of Matthew. We were more than just friends with the cast, we are a family," is written in their statement to 'People' magazine. "There's so much to say, but for now, we're going to take a moment to grieve and process this unimaginable loss."

"With time, we'll say more as much as we can," they add. "For now, our thoughts and love are with Matty's family, his friends, and everyone who loved him worldwide."

Many Hollywood actors mourned their beloved friend, including actress Gwyneth Paltrow, who shared on her Instagram page about the first time she met Perry, somewhere in 1993. She wrote, "He was so funny and so sweet and so fun to be with. It was a magical summer." She mentioned that he had just shot the pilot for "Friends," which had not yet aired. She said he was nervous, hoping that his big breakthrough was right around the corner, which proved to be the case. Paltrow mentioned that they remained friends for a while before drifting apart but she always enjoyed seeing him. She concluded by saying, "I hope he's finally at peace. I truly hope."
