Report: IDF strike against former Assad Army assets in Syria
The IDF is reportedly launching multiple strikes throughout Syria, with the intention of denying military assets to the Julani regime.

The IDF is reportedly striking in multiple locations today (Monday), with the aim of destroying more military equipment and assets belonging to deposed Syrian dictator Bashar Assad, with the aim of denying them to his successor, Syrian President al-Julani.
According to Channel 14 military correspondent Hallel Bitton Rosen, the strikes are being carried out north of Daraa in Syria, and are aimed at former bastions and outposts of the now defunct Syrian Arab Army.
The IDF's targets include not only weapons systems such as tanks, but also artillery batteries, radar stations, and weapons warehouses.
Ever since the fall of Bashar Assad to al-Julani's rebel forces, the IDF Air Force has worked to destroy any and all weapons and military equipment belonging to Assad's army, to prevent it from falling into hostile hands - which includes the current Syrian President's government.
These targets include not only small arms, tanks, and weapons warehouses, but also - reportedly - sites for producing chemical weapons and missile sites.
The IDF has also moved ground troops across the border to seize strategic locations within southern Syria, with the aim of better protecting Israel's northern border and to disarm the local population. The Israeli government has also repeatedly declared its intention to remain in southern Syria for an indefinite amount of time, due to the fear of a Jihadist threat from that area, according to Foreign Minister Gideon Sa'ar.
As part of this effort, the Israeli senior leadership has openly courted support from among the Druze living in southern Syria, even launching air attacks to protect their communities from al-Julani's government forces. Israel was also among the first to condemn the clashes along the western coast of Syria, in which government forces brutally put down an attempted rising by pro-Assad forces among the Alawite population there.
