Hezbollah leader Sheikh Naim Qassem gave an interview today (Sunday) where he discussed how he felt during the assassinations of his two predecessors and what the terrorist group plans from here on out.

According to Kann reporter Roi Kais, Qassem said that he, like all Hezbollah members, did not expect and did not believe that Nasrallah would die, but after it happened, he spoke with Hashem Safi al-Din, and in this conversation, Qassem said that a new leader for the organization needed to be chosen as soon as possible, and that he believed that he, Safi al-Din, was the most suitable person to stand in this position, as he had appropriate skills, and he was in direct contact with the military commanders (unlike him), but before he was officially elected, he too was eliminated.

Qassem also conceded that: "We had a problem that we were intelligence-exposed, and we had some breaches. We see in the investigation we are conducting, what details we need to learn a lesson from and think about how to improve it, but we immediately gained from this problem by dealing with the heart of the battle - we changed locations, we changed communication methods, many things changed during this period, without these things we would not have continued forward. I don't want to talk about this much because it could harm us."

Qassem also said that "the agreement is clear, and all people know exactly what the agreement is, the agreement was published and distributed on social media, it has no secret appendix (apparently raising the agreement in his hands), here is the agreement." He also said that it has no connection to any promise that the US gave to Israel.

According to him: "There is no secret agreement, there are no clauses under the table, this is the agreement, and in this agreement there is the phrase - south of the Litani - five times, south of the Litani is the area we are basing ourselves on. This agreement is Resolution 1701, it is completely clear and Israel must withdraw, and everything it has done are violations, if it has objections it should approach the committee - but the head of the committee 'its guardians are its thieves,' he is American, we agreed to the agreement, according to which the Lebanese state will take responsibility, we have no possibility to choose the monitoring committee, we entered on the basis of points that are all acceptable and under 1701."
