By Air, Land, Sea?
Hezbollah is trying to rearm - here's how
Sources speaking to Arab media say that Hezbollah has found a way to try and smuggle arms that bypasses the now hostile Syria.

With Syria closed to Hezbollah activity and the Beirut airport under close Lebanese surveillance, the terrorist group is now trying to rearm using its contacts at the port of Beirut, according to Army Radio reporter Doron Kadosh.
Kadosh says that a "Western security source" revealed to Saudi media that Hezbollah has regained control of the Beirut port, which is gradually returning to normal operations after the explosion there in August 2020. The Iranian Quds Force, through Units 190 and 700, is leading the weapons smuggling effort by sea.
Reportedly, Hezbollah's control of the Beirut port is carried out through a network of collaborators in customs mechanisms and port control, and the person leading this issue is Wafiq Safa - a senior Hezbollah official whom Israel failed in an assassination attempt during the war.
Hezbollah used to be able to smuggle cash and arms via the Syria-Lebanon land route (after bringing in the material by air to Syria) and Beirut Airport. However, after the fall of Bashar Assad in Syria and Lebanon's stricter enforcement against smuggling in Beirut, those routes are now closed.
Kadosh speculates that this leaking of information to Saudi media is meant to send a clear message that the west and perhaps even Israel is aware of Hezbollah's efforts, and may presage a more active effort to stop the smuggling by sea - whether via airstrikes or other pressure.
