WATCH: Shai Graucher carries Torah scroll for Bibas family

Social activist Shai Graucher was recorded today (Wednesday) carrying a special Torah scroll prepared in memory of the Bibas family, with husband and father Yarden Bibas receiving the honor of completing it himself.

The scroll is covered by a special covering dedicated to the Bibas family and colored in orange. It begins with a verse from Eichah (Lamentations):

"Pour out thy heart like water before the face of the Lord; lift up thy hands toward Him for the life of thy young children." (Eichah 2:19).

Rabbi Shai Graucher is a social activist and head of Standing Together/Chesed V'Rachamim, founded after October 7 to provide material and spiritual assistance to anyone who needs it, especially IDF soldiers, released hostages, and others.

According to eJewishPhilanthropy, Graucher said: “We’re helping people who lost their loved ones with financial support. We’re helping families whose houses were broken to fix them. We’re helping soldiers with equipment… We’re doing barbecues with the army. We are helping the families who are in [evacuee] hotels. We’re sending [presents to the wives of reservists] who are home for three, four weeks without their husband. We’re helping [displaced people] with winter clothes. We’re helping women who gave birth and their husband is in the army. We have kitchens that are open 24-7, sending food, Shabbat meals, special things.”

According to Charidy.com, Graucher has raised $9,857,664 (out of a target of $15 million) to help any and all who need assistance due to the war.

Graucher even gifted released hostage Emily Damari with a BMW.
