Hostages Released in the Second Wave. Ran Gilboa, father of the observer Daniella who returned yesterday from Hamas captivity after 477 days, arrived this morning at the Neve Shalom Synagogue in Petah Tikva to say the 'Nishmat Kol Chai' prayer.
Meanwhile, additional details about Daniella's captivity were published. Dekla Sharabi, her aunt who was released last night from the terrorist Hamas organization, reveals the feelings preceding the release and shares details from Daniella's captivity period.
In an interview with 'Morning News' on Channel 12, Sharabi spoke about the conversation with Daniella: "It wasn't a very long conversation, we didn't want to burden her. She mostly spoke to us in Arabic, and we were amazed at how she really captured the language."
The aunt said: "She told various small things like how she learned to drink black coffee. We understood from her that they watched Al Jazeera and listened to the radio, she heard her mother and was updated on almost all the details. This kept them going, hearing that everyone was fighting for their return."
Sharabi also shared the feelings that accompanied the family after Hamas published documentation of Gilboa from captivity, and it was even claimed that she was not among the living: "These 15 months were a continuous nightmare. That picture they published completely shook us. The uncertainty of a family that doesn't know what's really happening. We experienced helplessness, you can't do anything, you don't know. It was overwhelming, for me personally it was heartbreaking. She was given life, and we were given her."
According to the Jerusalem Post, loved ones said of Daniella that she is a talented singer with a winning smile, a funny young woman who stands out in any environment.
Though originally named Danielle, her name was changed to Daniella after her kidnapping to Gaza on the advice of a Rabbi. The Hostages Family Forum said that this change would provide Daniella with divine protection now that the letter ה, symbolizing God's name, was part of her name, as well.
