A King’s College London academic, Dr. Rana Baker, has come under fire for distributing Hamas propaganda during a seminar aimed at Middle Eastern history students, encouraging them to sympathize with the terrorist group.

Dr. Baker, a lecturer in Middle Eastern history, handed out a Hamas document titled "Our Narrative: Operation Al-Aqsa Flood," urging students to view Hamas as a “liberation movement.” She also made controversial remarks about the “collaboration between Zionists and Nazis” and questioned the justification of the Holocaust in the formation of Israel.

In March, Dr. Baker provided students with excerpts from a Hamas text justifying the October 7 attack, calling it a “necessary step” in response to Israel’s actions. The document also attempted to downplay civilian casualties as “accidental” and claimed the conflict was not with Jews, but with the “Zionist project.”

The university launched an investigation into the incident but has not disclosed its findings. It denied claims that students were pressured to adopt anti-Israel views, stating that students were free to argue their own positions in exams, provided they supported their claims with evidence.
