Swedish Member of the European Parlaiment (MEP) Alice Teodorescu Måwe has called for firm action against those inciting violence against Jews, arguing that perpetrators should face either prosecution or, for non-citizens, deportation without exception.

In a powerful Substack post this weekend, Teodorescu stated that any Swedish national who threatens Jewish communities should face legal consequences, while non-citizens should be expelled from the country.

"With the right to live one’s life in peace and freedom in Sweden, obligations and responsibilities also follow," she wrote, stressing that freedoms come with the duty to uphold tolerance and security for all citizens.

Teodorescu further urged Sweden to implement a policy mirroring the German state of Saxony-Anhalt, where prospective citizens must affirm Israel’s right to exist before gaining citizenship.

In her Substack post, she argued that anyone seeking Swedish citizenship should "embrace the Judeo-Christian values on which Swedish democracy is founded," with particular emphasis on principles like equality, tolerance, and secularism. Those who later act in opposition to these values, she proposed, should face revocation of their citizenship.

"Swedish citizenship is a privilege, something to be grateful for," she emphasized, underscoring that citizenship comes with a commitment to uphold the nation’s core democratic values.
