Former Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad was interviewed by Turkey's CNN channel and revealed that Iran had set up a special unit to fight Mossad activity inside Iran – but it turned out that the head of this unit himself was a Mossad agent.
Ahmadinejad related: "We set up an anti-Israel unit, and its leader turned out to be an agent of the Mossad," he said. He stressed that Israel has influence on the government, especially in the intelligence and security services, and noted that this penetration reaches even the highest echelons.
He also said that senior officials in Iran's intelligence ministry in the anti-Israel unit were Israeli agents. Ahmadinejad also revealed that Israel managed to carry out complex operations on Iranian soil, and even stole extremely important nuclear documents from the most sensitive units. He stressed that Israel has a wide network of influence and espionage within the Iranian government, and its agents manage to remain silent.
