The October 7 Hamas attack and Gaza war sparked widespread antisemitism in the US and led to a wedge between moderates and progressives in the Democratic Party. Democrats Abroad Israel thus split from the party's global body.

Amid the 2024 campaign initiatives by the Republican and Democratic Party branches in Israel to engage half a million American expats for the November election, the newly named American Democrats in Israel has revamped its organization and partnered with the Jewish Democratic Council of America. This shift comes as U.S. citizens in Israel focus on the Biden-Trump presidential race, discussing their views on Israel and important domestic issues impacting the American Jewish community.

Republicans Overseas Israel kicked off their campaign featuring a logo declaring "Trump: A true friend of Israel" in Hebrew and "make your voice heard" in English, alongside a yellow ribbon supporting Gaza hostages' release. Right-wing media figure Yinon Magal promoted their crowdfunding campaign with a call to elect Trump and bolster Israel, but it fell short, reaching only 16% of its $190,500 target by the campaign's end on Tuesday.
