As reported by Arutz Sheva, The Federal Association of Departments for Research and Information on Antisemitism in Germany released a troubling report on Tuesday, revealing an 83% surge in antisemitic incidents in 2023.

Throughout the year, 4,782 antisemitic complaints were recorded, averaging 13 complaints per day. The primary spike in incidents occurred post-October 7, with 2,787 incidents reported in the last three months alone—surpassing the total of 2,616 incidents recorded in all of 2022.

The findings revealed a rise in antisemitic incidents affecting Jews in workplaces, educational institutions, and on social media. Additionally, it was reported that two-thirds of the antisemitic violence in 2023 was recorded after October 7th.

Numerous incidents were recorded, such as a bottle of paint thrown at a Jewish community center in Berlin and torches aimed at a Jewish family's home.

Benjamin Steinitz, CEO of the Association, said, "In all areas of life, Jews are being threatened and attacked. Since October 7, the threats to Jewish life have become more severe."

"The unprecedented rise in antisemitism should be understood as a wake-up call," he added. "It is the state's responsibility to ensure that Jews can operate safely in civil life. It is up to all of us to stop the normalization of antisemitism."
