Torah test pays off
WATCH: $1 million on the Satmar Rebbe’s desk: Each scholar leaves with $6,000 in hand
The Satmar Rebbe stuns the Kollel with an extraordinary cash gift, rewarding Torah excellence with stacks of bills - no checks, no transfers, just pure paper.

On Sunday, a special ceremony was held in the Satmar Hasidic courtyard to distribute $1 million to students who toiled in Torah and were tested on all parts of the Shulchan Aruch, at the initiative of the governor, Rabbi Yossi Barach.
In Hasidism, there were several exam tracks for yeshiva students, who were interested in taking the exam on the material studied, and at the end of the exam there was a distribution ceremony in the Kollel Hall in Kiryat Yoel Monroe, with the participation of the Satmar Rebbe.
Each yeshiva student received $6,000 from the Rebbe and the Governor. There were also 40 yeshiva students from Israel from Jerusalem and Bnei Brak who came to the Satmar courtyard in the United States and received the scholarship in cash.
