Moments before the sanctification of Yom Kippur, the archive of the Religious Zionist Movement revealed yesterday (Wednesday) a rare clip in which the legendary head of the Kfar Haro'eh Yeshiva, Rabbi Moshe Zvi Neria ztz"l, chants the well-known piyyutim from the Yom Kippur prayers.
In the rare clips presented here from 30 years ago, Rabbi Zvi Neria can be seen explaining and chanting at his home the tunes for 'Ve'chol Ma'aminim' (And All Believe), 'Ata Zocher Ma'aseh Olam' (You Remember the Work of the World), and 'Veya'atayu Kol Le'avdecha' (And You Chose Him Alone), which he led in the prayers of the High Holy Days.
According to the statement from the Religious Zionist Movement, when Rabbi Neria was leading the chanting, he sang the section of "Mamlich Melachim" (Who Crowns Kings) to the tune of the national anthem 'Hatikvah' in order to elevate a prayer for the well-being of the country.
