Netanyahu, Now's the time to prove yourself

As the US continues to blatantly interfere in Israeli foreign policy, the Senate Majority Leader's call for a new government requires Prime Minister Netanyahu to pick up the phone and tell Biden to: "Stay out of our business."

The American intervention in Israel's internal affairs reached a red line today and Netanyahu needs to pick up the phone and tell President Biden to "stay our of our business." Schumer's remarks that Israel's government has outstayed its welcome and we should hold immediate elections are an impure intrusion into the holy of holies of Israeli democracy.

Israel needs to make it clear to the White House that it is not a protectorate, but acts independently according to its own needs. True, throughout all the years of our existence we have been supported militarily and financially by Uncle Sam, but personal interests come before any consideration of the political needs of whoever is residing on Pennsylvania Avenue.

Every attempt to harm Israel's interests deemed "legit"

Biden and his party are at a low point heading into the upcoming elections. Trump is leading in all the polls and Israel has become the Democrats' punching bag. The elderly man in the White House is fighting with everything he has to offer; everything is legitimate so long as it harms Israel.

Washington is using the war in Gaza to re-educate Netanyahu and his government. Like the Left in Israel, there is also a radical left in the US, the progressives silencing the majority Right in Israel. They continue doing what pleases them and their electorate: dropping aid to the Gazans over the heads of the IDF together with the Jordanian enemy from the east, who continue to set precedent on the ground.

The prime minister, who has always prided himself on being "in a different league" above all other Israeli politicians, has repeatedly clarified that he is facing international pressure in preparation for the ground attack in Rafah, while in practice the IDF is carrying out meaningless maneuvers in areas where it has already gained control (despite the necessity for much more) out of fear of the Americans constantly hovering over our heads.

True, Netanyahu made a mistake in the past when he to spoke to Congress, objecting to the Iran Deal under the nose of President Obama and Biden remembers this, but this time the situation is different. Israel is in a war for its existence and blatant interference from "our greatest ally" requires a firm stand. Now it's time for the magician, in his 17th year as Prime Minister of Israel, to pull out the tricks we've become so accustomed to in Israel, and use them in the international arena.

The restoration of Israeli PR - the order of the hour

Netanyahu who, for a while, occupied the Foreign Minister office while serving as Prime Minister, is beginning to pay for his sin of arrogance. Instead of rehabilitating the office and appointing professionals, he arranged a job for MK Galit Distal, establishing an office for Israeli PR, and the writing was on the wall from the "go."

But now there is no reason to cry over spilled milk, our PR must be restored - otherwise Hezbollah will be able to fire off rockets at Israel without much of a response. The rehabilitation of our national PR includes the recruitment of senior diplomat Gilad Erdan, who has done a remarkable job at the UN. It is time to insert him in the campaign against the hostile front presented by Washington over the last months, and if it has worked with UN chief António Guterres, there is no reason it will not succeed with Biden.

It should be remembered that the US has not experienced a major terrorist attack since 2001, and even 9/11 did nothing to undermine its global standing. Israel is in a different situation. It is not bordered by Canada and Mexico, but by cruel enemies. Many years ago, Golda Meir said we had "no other place to call home" and Biden must hear this as well. It's time for the 'guardian of Israel's security' as he once called himself to show true leadership; it's time for diplomacy of a "different league."
