The Arabic-language Sky News channel is reporting that sources within the Hamas have criticized Yahya Sinwar's decision to launch the Oct. 7 attack against Israel without consulting other senior members of the organization.

The channel added that the decision was made by Yahya Sanwar, his brother Mohammad, head of the Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades and the organization's chief of staff, Mohammed Deif, as well as senior leader Marwan Issa.

Also, according to the channel, Hamas leadership and its political affiliates were not aware of the overall plan.

Over the years, the political arm of Hamas has become the dominant body that influences decision-making in the organization and is responsible for its foreign relations, especially in the Muslim world, and even provides funding sources for Hamas's terrorist activities. The Political Bureau has 15 members who are elected every four years by the Shura Council, with Ismail Haniyeh currently as their head.

Last week, there were demonstrations following the difficult humanitarian situation in Gaza due to Hamas confiscating all aid trucks intended for the the local population. Dozens of Gazans demonstrated against Sinwar, chanting: "Sinwar, you donkey, we want to go home!"
