A True Siege
Israeli sources: We cut off electricity, next comes the water
Israeli sources said that following the decision to end electrical supply to the Gaza desalination plant, the next step will be to cut off the water to this part of Gaza

Israeli sources said that after the ending of electricity supply to the Gaza Strip, the next step Israel will take is cutting off the water supply to the northern part of the Strip, according to a report today (Sunday) by Channel 12 reporter Amit Segal.
Earlier today, Energy Minister Eli Cohen signed an order ending the provision of electricity from the Israeli Electric Company to the Gaza Strip. Israeli supply of electricity is solely for the desalination plant in the humanitarian al-Mawasi area, so the plant there is now ceasing to work.
According to reports in the Israeli media, most Palestinian electricity is provided by local generators and there is currently a large amount of fuel to keep them running, though with the complete cessation of humanitarian aid into the Gaza Strip, that fuel will likely run out soon.
Meir Spigler, CEO of the Electric Company, told Kann News regarding the order to stop electricity supply to Gaza that: "There is currently no electricity supply to all areas in Gaza. We immediately conveyed the order to implement the disconnection. Recently there was only one connection and it was only for a sewage treatment facility."
Israel originally cut off the supply of its water to the Gaza Strip following October 7, under the direction of then-Energy Minister and present Defense Minister Israel Katz. The decision was later partially reversed under heavy pressure from the Biden administration.
Now that Biden has been replaced by Donald Trump, Israel has increasingly felt a "free hand" in cutting off sources of supply used by both Hamas and Gazan civilians to try and pressure the terrorist organization to release the hostages on Israel's terms.
First, Israel cut off all humanitarian aid, though it will not truly run out for a few months due to the aid already introduced during the first round of the ceasefire. Then it cut off electricity. Soon, it may cut off water supply, in an area where Gazans have only begun to resettle.
