A Future Redefined: Netanyahu’s Powerful Message to American Jewish Leaders

WATCH: "Gaza will look different," Netanyahu’s bold vision for Israel's future revealed

During his remarks at the Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations on Sunday, February 16, 2025, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu spoke about the progress Israel has made in the ongoing conflict, as well as the future of the Middle East. For details on his speech.

Reflecting on the past year, he highlighted the role of Israeli soldiers and citizens in turning the tide of the conflict. “Within a year and some months, the courage of our soldiers, the stalwart position of our people and the decisions that we made turned things around. We decimated much of Hamas. We haven't finished the job, we will. Israel will destroy Hamas' military and governing capabilities; Gaza will look differently," he stated.

Netanyahu also expressed confidence in Israel's position in the broader geopolitical landscape. “We changed the Middle East," he remarked, pointing to the ongoing transformation of the region. He discussed the close relationship between Israel and the U.S., emphasizing how President Trump and Secretary Rubio have been strong supporters of Israel. "We have the greatest friend of Israel in the White House now," Netanyahu noted, adding that the shared goals between Israel and the U.S. could significantly reshape the region in ways previously thought unimaginable.

The prime minister outlined three immediate goals for Gaza: the release of all hostages, the destruction of Hamas, and ensuring Gaza’s future is different from its current state. He also expressed support for President Trump's bold vision for Gaza, stating, “President Trump has presented a bold new vision and the only plan that I think can work to enable a different future for the people of Gaza, for the people of Israel, for the surrounding areas.”

Addressing the situation in Gaza, Netanyahu argued that Gazans should have a choice to leave if they wish. He stressed that the situation is not caused by Israel, but rather by Hamas’ actions. "We tried to get the population to leave, to get them out of harm's way, and Hamas, with rifles, with gunfire, tried to prevent them from leaving,” he explained.

Concluding his remarks, Netanyahu expressed optimism for Israel’s future. "I think today everybody recognizes that Israel has never been as strong as it is now," he said, emphasizing the strength of the American-Israeli alliance and the global Jewish community. He ended on a hopeful note, saying, "The greatest days are still before us. So I hope that next time that we meet, come back next year, you'll see the difference, even greater differences than you see now."
