Terrorists opened fire on a public bus traveling along the al-Arub bypass road Sunday night in Gush Etzion. The bus sustained four bullet holes in its reinforced window, directly above a passenger's seat.

Despite the evidence of gunfire, passengers reported that the IDF initially classified the incident as a rock attack, citing the absence of bullet casings on the road.

Vered Shavit, a Karmei Tzur resident who was seated next to the impacted window, recounted the terrifying moments. "I had my back to the window when we suddenly heard the sound of bullets hitting the bus. I immediately ducked and called the security hotline,” Shavit said.

She described the aftermath, including the IDF's response. “They said they couldn’t find bullet casings, only rocks, but the holes in the window speak for themselves. Four bullet holes at the level of my head and body. If the bus wasn’t reinforced, we’d be in a different place, G-d forbid.”

Shavit criticized the ongoing threat of terror attacks in the region. "They promised that the bypass road would bring security, but whoever runs from terrorism—terrorism chases after them. You can't run from terror—you must eliminate it."
