Unofficial Syrian sources report an air strike in the Sayyidah Zaynab, considered an Iranian bastion, in the Damascus area a short time ago today (Monday).
Casualties have been reported from the strike.
The IDF has been continually bombing Iranian and Hezbollah targets in the southern Syria area since the war began for a number of reasons, including eliminating high-ranking Iranian and Hezbollah officers, and interdicting weapons and materiel supplies to Hezbollah in Lebanon.
Some foreign sources suggest that the IDF has also been engaged in covert ground operations near the border to clear mines for a possible land operation and subsequent land siege of border crossings to further strangle Hezbollah.
