In the attack, the terrorist Zahi Yasser Abd al-Razak Oufi, head of the Hamas infrastructure in Tulkarm, was eliminated. According to the IDF, Oufi was a "ticking time bomb" and was planning to carry out a major and significant attack ahead of October 7.
Zahi Oufi planned and led the attempted car bomb attack in Atarot on 02.09.2024. Additionally, Ofir took part in the planning and execution of several significant and intense attacks against civilians in the territories of Judea and Samaria, including attacks in which additional Israeli civilians were injured. In this context, he worked to establish terrorist infrastructure on behalf of Hamas and assisted terrorists in the area in carrying out significant shooting and bombing attacks.
