Having submitted the findings of the investigation into the accidental attack on the World Central Kitchen convoy to the Prime Minister and Defense Minister, the IDF released the summary of these findings to the public in English today (Friday).

According to the report, IDF forces identified gunmen on one of the WCK aid trucks and assumed that after the aid was unloaded - these gunmen were still present and were Hamas terrorists. Furthermore, they failed to identify the vehicles as WCK vehicles. This resulted in the mistaken launching of the drone which killed seven foreign nationals.

The IDF argues that this action was in severe violation of IDF operational procedure and a number of senior commanders have been reprimanded or cashiered for the failure.

The IDF also reiterated the importance of humanitarian aid organizations and that they would work to absorb the lessons learned by the incident to make sure it does not repeat itself.
