The Israel Central Bureau of Statistics reported today (Sunday) that based on partial statistics for November 2024, wages have gone slightly up for salaried employees while the number of jobs has slightly declined.

According to the data, the average wages of all salaried employees in November 2024 was 12,869 NIS, an increase of 1.1% compared to November of the previous year.

Meanwhile, the number of salaried positions overall in November stood at 4.188 million, an increase of 1.4% compared to October 2024 (4.131 million) and an increase of 6.1% as opposed to November 2023 (3.949 million).

While generally encouraging news, Israel is still struggling with sticky inflation and rising cost of living, as well as new taxes such as an increase in the VAT from 17% to 18% in order to pay for the marked increase in defense spending since the war began.
