During discussions on tackling organized crime, Netanyahu and his office suggested examining the possibility of eliminating the 200-shekel note from the Israeli currency.

In a recent meeting of the subcommittee aimed at promoting the fight against crime in Arab society, which took place at the Prime Minister's Office in Jerusalem, the Prime Minister and his team put forward the idea of reviewing the cancellation of the 200-shekel bill.

Netanyahu instructed his office team, Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich, and the Ministry of Finance staff—including the Bank of Israel Governor, the Prime Minister's Office Director General, the Tax Authority, and the task force for combating crime in Arab society—to explore this proposal. Additionally, he tasked them with holding further discussions on the implications of abolishing the 200-shekel note as part of the effort to combat organized crime and the movement of black money.
