The Financial Intelligence Units of Israel, the US, Australia, Canada, and multiple European nations are joining together into a task force dedicated to tracking and fighting Hamas fundraising in the wake of the October 7 Massacre.
In a press statement today (Monday), the Financial Intelligence Units of Israel, the US, and multiple other countries announced the formation of a joint task force to track and combat the financing of Hamas terrorism in the wake of the October 7 massacre.
The task force's declared purpose is to increase intelligence sharing and coordination between countries and discussion of methods and means to combat terror financing, as well as work to involve the private sector in the effort to fight terror funding.
According to a number of analyses, while this effort is unlikely to seriously affect terror funding networks inside the Middle East and outside the west, it may help stem or impede terror-friendly fundraising in western countries - including efforts to form local terror cells - in the wake of the pro-Palestinian riots, especially under the guise of humanitarian efforts to help rebuild the Gaza Strip.
