Jerusalem Mayor Moshe Lion lit up the city's Chords Bridge tonight (Wednesday) for the sake of the Bibas family being held hostage by Hamas, and whose fate remains unknown.
Watch:
Lion said that "tonight, as the Strings Bridge is lit in orange, all of Jerusalem unites in prayer for the well-being of all the hostages, including the Bibas family, who have touched all our hearts. This orange light is not just a symbol, but a cry that rises from the heart of all of us in the capital city. This cry will not be silenced until Kfir, Ariel, Shiri, and Yarden, along with all the hostages, return home. This is not just our moral duty - it is our deep commitment to continue making their voices heard, until they all return home."
Jerusalem had previously lit up the bridge in honor of the return of the first three hostages released in the first phase of the current deal - Romi Gonen, Doron Steinbrecher and Emily Damari.
Ynet reports that Israel has demanded clear, specific answers regarding the fate of Shiri Bibas and her two children, who have been kept in Hamas captivity since the beginning of the war with no indication of whether they are alive or dead.
Shiri Bibas was reportedly among those on the list of female hostages to possibly be released last Saturday, but she was not.
Furthermore, although Israel has received a numerical list of the hostages to be released in the first phase of the deal and the number of those alive and dead, the list did not specify names of those alive and dead, leading to a great deal of uncertainty for the families of hostages being released this phase.
Three Israeli hostages are set to be released tomorrow, along with five living Thai hostages whose release as brokered by Foreign Minister Gideon Sa'ar.
