Last March the actor Jonathan Majors was arrested and accused of assaulting and harassing his ex-girlfriend, and last night (Monday) the actor was convicted and found guilty on two counts out of four. As a result, shortly after the verdict was announced, Disney and Marvel fired the actor, who was supposed to lead the fifth phase of the Marvel movies.

In March, Majors called the police and reported that he found his ex-girlfriend, Grace Jabbari, unconscious. After the police found her injured with a cut on her ear and a broken finger, Majors, who pleaded not guilty at the beginning of the trial, was arrested. Jabbari claimed in the trial that Majors injured her during a fight in the car several hours before the call to the hotline. During the trial, prosecutors referred to the case as an incident of domestic violence, while the defense cast doubt and implied that Jabbari had injured herself as revenge. Majors was found guilty of third-degree assault and harassment, and will be sentenced on February 6, with the maximum penalty for these offenses being up to a year in prison.

Majors played Kang the Conqueror in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, and in the Loki series, and was slated to become Marvel's new supervillain in upcoming movies, including the new Avengers movie, Avengers: Age of Ultron, which is set to be released in May, 2026. Now it is not known what will happen to the future of the Marvel films, which encountered additional problems and had to recalculate their course, but if they decide to continue in the same direction, they will probably cast a new actor for Majors' role.
