When a coffee addictions turns to crime
Shocking incident: Man goes on rampage and sets coffee shop on fire after being denied a discount
A bizarre incident unfolded in Be'er Sheva when a 27-year-old Bedouin man, a resident of the Negev, set fire to a kiosk after being denied a two-shekel discount on his coffee. The disturbing events started when the man approached the kiosk and ordered a cup of coffee.

After hearing the price, he requested a small discount of two shekels, which the sellers denied. Unable to accept the refusal, he left the kiosk in anger but didn’t stop there.
The man returned soon after with a stick, and, in an outburst of frustration, began violently smashing the cash register and counter. Not content with causing physical damage, he then went to a nearby gas station, bought gasoline, and used it to set the kiosk on fire. The flames quickly consumed the business, leaving it in ruins.
Authorities quickly responded to the situation, and Negev District police launched an investigation into the incident. Within a short period, they managed to apprehend the suspect, who was later charged with arson, destruction of property, and other serious offenses. The police have moved swiftly to hold the individual accountable for his extreme actions.
The case comes under the leadership of Deputy Superintendent Amir Klein, the commander of the Negev District. Since his appointment, Klein has implemented a strict zero-tolerance policy towards crime, ensuring swift action in both minor and major incidents. This approach has led to a higher rate of arrests and a greater sense of security in the region. Despite the violent nature of the crime, the police were able to bring the suspect to justice and prevent further damage.
This unusual and extreme reaction to a simple coffee order denial serves as a reminder of the sometimes unpredictable nature of human behavior, as well as the importance of swift law enforcement action to maintain order.
