A serious indictment was filed today (Thursday), a 26-year-old caregiver from Haifa began privately caring for a terminal cancer patient, 77, and exploited his trust to steal 300,000 shekels using his credit card.
The caregiver met the patient, a 77-year-old man with cancer and 100% disability, at the medical center and convinced him and his family to hire her privately.
He swiped the credit card of the terminally ill patient.
According to the suspicion, the caregiver exploited his difficult health condition and stole from him by swiping his credit cards, committing fraud by copying his details, and making purchases amounting to hundreds of thousands of shekels.
Upon receiving the complaint, officers from the Haifa District at the Haifa station initiated a covert investigation. After the investigation entered the overt phase, officers from the Haifa station raided her apartment and arrested the suspect for questioning at the Haifa station. At the end of the questioning, she was remanded, and her detention was extended from time to time.
Today, the police succeeded in establishing an evidentiary foundation against the suspect and proving the commission of her actions in numerous cases. As mentioned, the police filed a serious indictment against her, accompanied by a request for her detention until the end of the proceedings.
