The investigation, conducted by the Central Unit of Israel's Northern District Police in collaboration with the ISA, was launched covertly over the past few months.
As the investigation became public, Border Police raided Wadi's home in Shefa-'Amr, arresting him and taking him for questioning. During his interrogation, it was revealed that he had been in contact with a terror operative from the Nur al-Shams battalion, discussing his intent to carry out a "revenge attack" on the Shefa-'Amr police station. This attack was intended to symbolize authority in response to the deaths of his family members during an Israeli security forces operation in October 2024.
The investigation also uncovered Wadi’s involvement in multiple arms trafficking cases. He had been purchasing firearms from Palestinian Authority territories in Judea and Samaria and reselling them within Israel, earning thousands of shekels from each transaction.
Additionally, during the investigation, officers discovered footage on Wadi’s mobile device from a 2019 visit to the Tulkarm refugee camp, where he was seen holding and firing weapons at a family wedding.
Following the investigation's conclusion, the Haifa District Prosecutor's Office filed an indictment against Wadi and requested his detention until the legal proceedings are completed at the Haifa District Court.
