Crime case, Mother murders son, Herzliya
Murderer Sigal Itskovich Denies Criminal Responsibility for the Murder
The Mental Health Center has requested a 14-day extension to conduct further evaluations regarding the murderer’s fitness to stand trial. Another hearing will be scheduled following psychiatric assessments.

This morning (Wednesday), a further hearing was held concerning Sigal Itskovich, who is accused of murdering her 6-year-old son Liam in Herzliya about a month and a half ago. During the hearing, the mother denied criminal responsibility for the alleged offenses.
Subsequently, the court received a letter from the Mental Health Center requesting a 14-day delay to conduct additional psychiatric evaluations. The letter states that the district psychiatrist requires the additional time to assess whether Itskovich is fit to stand trial.
As a reminder, Itskovich murdered her son, went to the Seven Stars Mall covered in a sheet with an axe, and attempted to harm passersby and a security guard. She was arrested by the police who were called to the scene. The continuation of the hearing will be determined based on the results of the additional psychiatric evaluations.
