The police solved the murder in Tamra about a month and a half ago. On July 6, 2024, a report was received about a body found inside a mosque in the city of Tamra. When northern district police officers arrived at the scene, they found that the head of the deceased, Sami Abu Suleiman (49, Lod), had been crushed and severely injured with a Quran stand made of iron that was found near the body.

As soon as the investigation began, it became clear that the murderer had taken the DVR device from inside the mosque before fleeing the scene in an attempt to obstruct the investigation and destroy evidence. After reviewing security camera footage from dozens of locations around the mosque, investigators were able to identify a vehicle that picked up the murder suspect from a nearby street. Later that same day, in the afternoon, and after employing various measures, the police managed to arrest the 31-year-old suspect from Tamra.

Throughout the investigation, the suspect denied his involvement in the incident. Despite this and the removal of the recording device from the crime scene, the homicide investigators from the northern district's central unit succeeded in collecting enough evidence linking the suspect to the murder. This morning, with the conclusion of the investigation phase, the Northern District Prosecutor's Office, represented by attorneys Avi Pasternak and Basel Saadi, will file the indictment in the Haifa District Court.
