The police announced that the suspect who was arrested for speaking in support of the Hamas organization is Attorney Seri Horiya, who serves as the secretary of the Hadash movement in Shfar'am. Judge of the District Court in Haifa: "It is not possible to overlook praising the enemy."

The police announced today (Wednesday) that the lawyer arrested for publishing support for the Hamas organization is Attorney Seri Horiya, secretary of the Hadash movement in Shfar'am.
According to the police announcement, yesterday the police officers of the Northern District arrested the attorney Seri Horiya, who serves as the secretary of the Hadash party in his city of residence - Shfar'am on suspicion of publishing a number of inciting posts in which, among other things, it was written, "Hamas has given a blow that will make the Arab losses be forgotten."
The judge of the district court: "It is not possible to overlook praise of the enemy"
Initially, Horiya's name was banned from publication, but due to the clear public interest in publishing his name, the Galil Area Crime Fighting Unit appealed the court's decision to ban the publication of his name. At a hearing held yesterday before the Honorable Judge Avi Levy at the District Court in Haifa, the judge decided to allow the publication of his name and noted in his words "No nation in the midst of heavy fighting when existential danger hovers over its head and its soldiers, with the best of our sons fighting hour after hour behind enemy lines to return to all of us the security that is so important to our country, cannot tolerate the manifestation of encouragement, praise or incitement of the enemy at a time like this and overlook it."
After the hearing in the Acre Magistrate's Court, it was decided to extend his detention until November 12. Judge Amit Rozins noted in his decision that "there is no need to explain the danger posed by the possibility of opening additional scenes of violence and war, which may be caused by publications of this type."
