Israel at war. Two weeks after the massacre in the Gaza Strip periphery, the police report that they have identified 74% of the civilian casualties who were killed in Hamas' surprise attack on the Gaza Strip periphery.
These are 765 civilians who were killed in the war out of around 1030 casualties who are not soldiers or police. In the past, we reported that the identification process of soldiers is easier due to the military identification discs and signs. Additionally, the soldiers provide their fingerprints, photographs of their teeth and DNA upon their enlistment in the IDF.
So far, 668 bodies have been passed over for burial. About 265 have not yet been identified.
The number of abductees rose to 210
In addition to that, IDF spokesperson Daniel Hagari stated that the IDF has updated the families of 210 captives, but this number may change in the coming days, either increasing or decreasing, depending on the discovery of bodies of missing individuals.
Two American citizen hostages were released on Friday night and transferred to the IDF through the Red Cross.
