The son of a council head in the north, a 24-year-old man from the village of Rama, was arrested yesterday (Monday) on suspicion of being involved in incidents of violence, shooting, placing explosives in several houses, as well as extortion through threats against victims, as part of his involvement with a criminal organization from the north.

According to the police, the suspect allegedly threatened and extorted several victims multiple times, as they owed money to his father. This is despite the investigation revealing that the debt had been arranged with members of a criminal organization from the north.

The Magistrate's Court in Rishon LeZion will hold a hearing today regarding the extension of the suspect's detention.

Yesterday (Monday), a 43-year-old Arab man was moderately injured in a disturbance in Shfaram. Medics and paramedics from Magen David Adom provided him with medical treatment, and he was transported to Rambam Hospital with injuries to his body. Earlier in the afternoon, a 13-year-old boy from the Bedouin community in the Negev was moderately injured with a penetrating wound. He was rushed to a nearby clinic, where emergency responders provided him with first aid before he was transferred to Soroka Hospital in Be'er Sheva.

On Sunday, thousands of protesters marched in Tel Aviv, demonstrating against the rampant violence in the Arab sector. They displayed symbolic coffins at Habima Square. Concurrently, the monitoring committee of Arab Israelis set up a protest tent near the Prime Minister's Office."
