Deal Emerging for 40,000 Foreign Workers From India in Construction and Care

Building off of previous bilateral negotiations for 10,000 Indian workers, the deal has now increased to 40,000, to be brought to Israel within weeks to fill wartime shortages.

40,000 Indian workers may be coming within the next several weeks to help fill the large wartime shortages of foreign workers in fields such as construction and care.

According to reporting by Walla News, negotiations to bring in 10,000 Indian workers for construction and care work earlier in the year have now been expanded into a proposed bilateral deal to bring in 40,000 trained workers in those sectors, due to massive labor shortages created by the war.

The agreement has been put before the Knesset and the expectation is that workers will be flown in en masse by air over the next several weeks.
