US Dominates 2025 Power Rankings: See Who Made Top 10 (It's a shocker)
US News report reveals shifting global influence as South Korea surpasses Japan, while Saudi Arabia's economic might pushes it into elite rankings.

The United States continues to dominate global power rankings in 2025, leading China and Russia in a comprehensive analysis by US News that evaluates military strength, economic influence, and international alliances.
The report, released this week, shows notable shifts in global influence, with South Korea rising to sixth place, outranking traditional powers France and Japan. Israel has entered the top 10 for the first time, while Saudi Arabia secured ninth place, bolstered by its $440 billion in annual petroleum revenues and growing influence in regional affairs.
According to the rankings, which analyzed 195 countries, the United States maintains its position with a $30.34 trillion economy, while China follows with $19.53 trillion. Russia holds third place despite a significantly smaller economy of $2.2 trillion, highlighting the importance of military capability and political influence in the rankings.
European powers remain influential, with the United Kingdom, Germany, and France all securing positions in the top seven. The UK ranks fourth globally, leading European nations despite post-Brexit adjustments, while Germany's strong $4.92 trillion economy and leadership in EU green initiatives cement its fifth-place position.

The methodology, developed by BAV Group and Wharton School researchers, evaluates countries based on five key metrics: leadership, economic influence, political impact, international alliances, and military strength.
India, notably absent from the top 10, ranks 12th overall but maintains its position as the world's fifth-largest economy, according to the report.
