Good riddance

Oregon Nurse fired after justifying Bibas family murder

Hart called Jews 'dogs, rats and vermin of any kind' adding that she would not treat them in her capacity as a nurse.

Camesha Hart, a registered nurse from Beaverton, Oregon, has been fired from her position at Oregon Health and Science University Hospital (OHSU) after a series of inflammatory social media posts that justified the murder of Shiri Bibas and her sons by Hamas.

The hospital’s decision came after widespread public outrage and pressure from advocacy groups, spotlighting Hart’s remarks that also included calls to refuse medical treatment to Jews and praise for the terror group responsible for the October 7, 2023, massacre.

Shiri Bibas, 32, and her sons Ariel, 4, and Kfir, nine months, were abducted from their home in Kibbutz Nir Oz during Hamas’s attack and murdered in captivity weeks later, before a November 2023 deal freed most women and children hostages. Their bodies were returned to Israel on February 20, 2025, as part of a ceasefire agreement, though Hamas initially provided incorrect remains for Shiri.

Hart’s posts, first exposed in late February 2025 by Physicians Against Antisemitism (PAA), surfaced on Instagram under her handle “hartgirl.pdx.” In one comment, she justified Shiri Bibas’s murder, writing, “She was fair game as military personnel,” referencing Bibas’s past IDF service. She added that the Bibas family should be “thankful they weren’t returned in blue body bags and zip ties." In another post, she Hart said she would “choose to go with H group [Hamas] any day,” wishing Jews would “meet their ancestors soon,” and labeling them “dogs, rats, vermin of any kind.” She explicitly stated she would refuse to treat Jewish patients, saying, “I’m not a vet and I don’t treat dogs.”

PAA shared Hart’s comments with its 25,000 followers, while StopAntisemitism amplified the call to action to its 330,000 followers on X, urging OHSU to terminate her. Sources within the hospital said that the hospital received over 5,000 emails and calls demanding action. OHSU, a top-tier medical institution, initially launched an internal investigation in early March, with an official statement noting, “Hate speech, harassment, racism and discrimination are wholly unacceptable and have no place at Oregon Health & Science University.”

Hart is a married and has four children. Her nursing license is valid through November 2025, according to the Oregon State Board of Nursing (OSBN).

Before OHSU, Hart taught at Portland Community College (PCC) until 2018, as confirmed by PCC spokesperson James Hill. Her Instagram activity, which included advocating for the intifada and additional pro-Hamas content, continued even after the initial exposure. After she was fired, Hart rebranded her account to “HartForHumanity” and “CareForJustice,” launching a GoFundMe titled “Support Legal Defense Against Online Bullies” to raise $22,000 for a tort attorney. She claimed to be a victim of “online bullying” and “doxxing” for opposing “genocide,” raising $220 before the campaign’s status became unclear. Hart denied antisemitism, but her posts obviously contradict this.

Hart's posts violated the Nightingale Pledge and professional ethics barring discrimination in care, prompting calls for the OSBN to revoke her license. Barbara Holtry of the OSBN told media in early March that investigations are confidential and timelines vary. Probably no action will be taken before Hart’s scheduled board appearance in November 2025, unless significant evidence emerges (as if refusing to treat Jews and calling them dogs on social media isn't enough).
