Users of popular direction apps such as Moovit, Waze, and Google Maps in the Tel Aviv area are reporting major disruptions to GPS location finding, to the point that the apps place them in Iran or Lebanon, according to reporting by Globes.
Efforts to disrupt GPS location finding have become more frequent during the war, first in the south of the country and then in the north, in an effort to decrease the accuracy and lethality of rocket and projectile attacks on Israeli territory.
The current disruption is likely related to preparations to meet an expected combined attack by Iran and its proxies in retaliation for the assassination of Hezbollah leader Fuad Shukr and Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh last week.
