Olympics: Israeli Judoka Sagi Muki advances in men’s under-81kg

Sagi Muki, Israel's hope in the men's under-81kg weight class, demonstrated his world-class skills with a decisive ippon victory over Germany's Timo Cavelius. The win propels Muki into the round of 16, where he'll face South Korea's Lee Joon-hwan in what promises to be a high-stakes match.

In contrast, Palestinian judoka Fares Badawi saw his Olympic dreams cut short. Oe of just eight athletes representing the Palestinian Olympic Committee in Paris, Badawi fell to Tajikistan's Somon Makhmadbekov in his opening bout.

Meanwhile, in the pool, Israeli swimmer Tomer Frankel showed promise but fell short of advancement. Despite a strong second-place finish in his heat of the men's 100m freestyle, Frankel's 21st place overall wasn't enough to secure a spot in the semifinals.
