After the words of Jibril Rajoub, a senior member of the Palestinian Authority, and the chairman of the Palestinian Olympic Committee who supported the massacre on Simchat Torah, Yael Arad, the chairman of the Israeli Olympic Committee and a member of the International Olympic Committee, responds to his words: "The support and backing he gives to the unprecedented brutal massacre and rape of civilians, we will file a strong complaint against him."
Yael Arad's words: "Jibril Rajoub holds the position of chairman of the Palestinian Olympic Committee and as such he is committed to the values of the Olympic movement. We strongly condemn his words, which are a complete contradiction to the Olympic values, in the support and backing he gives to the unprecedented brutal massacre and rape of civilians, children and elderly people who were in their beds, in their homes. The Israeli Olympic Committee will file a strong complaint with the institutions of the International Olympic Committee."
Earlier today, it was announced that Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich strongly attacks the words of Jibril Rajoub. In a message he published on his Twitter page, Smotrich wrote, "A reminder to those who have not yet sobered up and think that the Nazis in Judea and Samaria are different from the Nazis in Gaza. We will strengthen the settlement and cripple the Nazis everywhere to ensure that "never again!"
Jibril Rajoub: "The action was part of the Palestinian war of defense"
The finance minister's words come against the background of the outrageous statement of Palestinian Authority official Jibril Rajoub who justified the murder committed by Hamas. In an interview with the Egyptian MBC network he said, "The events of October 7 were a natural reaction to oppression. The one responsible for the incident is the occupation and its crimes."
Rajoub went on to justify the massacre and even warned of a similar case in the future in Judea and Samaria, "the action was part of the Palestinian war of defense and the next outbreak will occur in the West Bank." According to him, "Hamas is an integral part of the political fabric. The current campaign is the beginning of unity with the aim of establishing a Palestinian state on all Palestinian territories."
