And Not Necessarily Because of the Man Himself

Win or lose, Trump is very bad for the Jews

The phenomenon of Trumpism and the polarization he engenders does not bode well for an increasingly embattled minority.

The long, eventful, chaotic election of 2024 is about to come to an end. Though not as violent as 2020 (two assassination attempts on Trump aside), and not as unpredictable as 2016, the election tomorrow promises to be a nailbiter, with about half the country set to mourn and rage regardless of the outcome.

But whether Trump wins or Kamala does, American Jews are in for a rough ride. If Trump ekes out a narrow victory in the swing states, the liberal media will put a laser focus on each and every small community with which he made gains and hurl vicious attacks at them. In Pennsylvania, Michigan, Georgia, that means Jews, too.

The radicalization of the left will continue apace as parties who lose often do, and the increased hatred of Israel and subsequent antisemitism will flourish in mass protests and radical movements formed to "take back" the country.

If Trump loses, many of Kamala Harris' staffers in the White House will come from the same milieu of the radically anti-Israel protestors who have been harassing and threatening Jews since October 7. Anti-Israel policies will spill over into indifference and even hostility to Jewish civil rights complaints.

Meanwhile, Trump, like the liberal media in the previous scenario, will spend a lot of time bashing communities whom he claimed betrayed him - all while claiming he won, of course - and one of these groups will be, you guessed it, the Jews.

The antisemitism which has started to seep into the mainstream of the right will turn into a flood of hatred of all the groups to whom Trump and the GOP reached out to and who spurned them.

Whatever happens, God will protect us, but He'll have a lot of work to do after Tuesday.
