Stories From Captivity

"Captives asked me to tell their parents that they are alive"

The hostages who were held captive by Hamas for over 50 days, talk about the harsh conditions in which they were held. One of the abductees shared that during the IDF bombings, they would leave them alone and the guards would run to a hiding place.

The family members of one of the abductees who returned this week said that during her captivity she met other abductees who had not yet returned to Israel, and asked her to remember the names and phone numbers of the parents so that she would give them a sign of life, this was published this morning on N12.

The abductees felt the IDF bombs very well and their beds shook - they were petrified for their lives, in some of the bombs the guards locked them in a room, left them alone, and ran away.

The abductee also shared that she had not showered since the day she was kidnapped, and was moved to several hiding places, including tunnels. Some of the days were in buildings above ground.

Many of the abductees' testimonies are similar to each other and almost all of them state that there was almost no food, they had not showered since the moment they were kidnapped, and had to put three chairs together to sleep.

They would tell them to be quiet so they wouldn't be heard outside and when moving from place to place they would wrap the family members in layers so they wouldn't recognize them.
