Due to the fighting in the south, the government is set to approve the establishment of an administration devoted to long-term reconstruction of the Gaza Perimeter area and its residents.
According to the statement put out by the government: “In light of the serious and extensive damage caused in the Gaza perimeter region and its population by the Hamas surprise attack, which led to the declaration of Operation Swords of Iron, and alongside the immediate responses provided by government ministries and bodies, in order to rebuild the Gaza Perimeter area, a designated administration will be established, directly subordinate to the Prime Minister, which will rebuild and strengthen the Gaza perimeter region and its population quickly, safely, and effectively.”
The Goals of the Administration:
- Restoring and strengthening communities, residents, and populations harmed (by the fighting) with an emphasis on psychological, social, and material aspects.
- Physical construction and reconstruction of the Gaza Perimeter region and the settlements that were harmed.
- Strengthening the personal and communal sense of security for the Gaza Perimeter area.
- Repairing and improving damaged infrastructure and services, while leveraging investment to improve infrastructures for growth.
- Restoring economic activity in the Gaza Perimeter settlements and region and leveraging it for growth.
- Synchronizing and coordinating the activities of government ministries with the aim of rebuilding the area and population of the Gaza Perimeter.
- The administration will create a one stop shop for the Gaza Perimeter region and its population and maintain ongoing contact and work with local government leaders and communities with complete transparency.
